Olivine Sand, as a foundry and refractory aggregate, olivine is noted for its high fusion point, low uniform thermal expansion, and its remarkable ability to resist fracture from thermal shock. Olivine has been famous for years in producing excellent non-ferrous castings, and basic Refractories and a key raw material for Manganese Steel Castings. Today, more foundry men are realizing that olivine works equally well in Cast Iron and Stainless Steel.

Applications:

Slag Conditioner

90% of the world's olivine is consumed as a slag conditioner. Kebo Olivine is available in various grades for use as a slag former in the blast furnace or as an additive to sinter and pellets. The high MgO content combined with a low loss on ignition makes Kebo Olivine a suitable product as a slag conditioner for steel making.

Refractory products

Olivine sand is available in various grades for use in the production of refractory products.

Foundry sand for casting

Olivine Sand is suitable for use in alkaline resin bonded system and produces a clean surface finish, making it suitable for foundry castings, especially for manganese steel and non-ferrous metals casting. Kebo Olivine also has the health and safety advantage of containing no free SiO2 powder.

EBT tap hole filler for electrical arc furnaces

Using Kebo Olivine as a tap hole filler material can achieve opening rates of 97-100%.

Other uses include gunning, tundish linings, covering flux and other applications.
